The Russian River Valley abounds with charming small towns and gently rolling hills covered with vineyards, apple trees and native oaks. The roadways tend to be two-lane, the kind you like to linger on, intrigued by what might be around the next corner. Wineries pepper the area; some are open daily and some by appointment, so check our wineries listing to see if you need to call ahead.
We have five suggested driving tours listed to the left — each encompassing several wineries — allowing you to make the most of your time. We hope they help you enjoy your stay here in our special part of the world.
No matter the winery tours you choose, you’ll find the countryside of the Russian River Valley filled with beauty and adventure at every turn. Eastside Road/Old Redwood Highway Winery Tour Foppiano Vineyards Limerick Lane Cellars Christopher Creek Winery Rodney Strong Vineyards J Vineyards & Winery Heading north on Highway 101, take the first Healdsburg exit. Go under 101, turning west (left) onto Old Redwood Highway. You will now be traveling in a southern and westerly direction away from Healdsburg. The first winery you will see is Foppiano Winery on the right. Down a few blocks further, on the left are Limerick Lane and Christopher Creek. Travel a bit further to the south and you will see Rodney Strong and J Vineyards & Winery on the right side. Here, within a mile of each other, are five wineries to sample.
