The Russian River Valley abounds with charming small towns and gently rolling hills covered with vineyards, apple trees and native oaks. The roadways tend to be two-lane, the kind you like to linger on, intrigued by what might be around the next corner. Wineries pepper the area; some are open daily and some by appointment, so check our wineries listing to see if you need to call ahead.
We have five suggested driving tours listed to the left — each encompassing several wineries — allowing you to make the most of your time. We hope they help you enjoy your stay here in our special part of the world.
No matter the winery tours you choose, you’ll find the countryside of the Russian River Valley filled with beauty and adventure at every turn. Healdsburg Area Winery Tour Davis Family Vineyards Holdredge Winery La Crema Winery Selby Winery Chateau Felice The City of Healdsburg is just inside the Russian River Valley Appellation's northern boundary. Traveling north on Highway 101 from Santa Rosa, take the first Healdsburg exit, (not the Central Healdsburg exit). Slow down as you cross the bridge over the Russian River. Just after you cross the bridge, turn right onto Front Street. Travel about one block, to a group of tasting rooms located side by side, including Davis Family Vineyards, Holdredge Wines and Sapphire Hill.
Should you travel to downtown Healdsburg, you'll first come along the tasting room for Longboard Vineyards, and in downtown La Crema, Selby Winery and Chateau Felice. Healdsburg also offers the visitor a wide choice of hotels, inns and B&B's, many small boutiques and several fine restaurants. |
